Create and Optimize for Google
1. Decide what type of website you'd like to create. You can create a blog, forum or just an informational site.
2. Create your site. Tools are available online to help you create sites without knowing HTML or other web languages. Wordpress, an easy and popular website publishing platform, is great for making nice looking websites without a lot of prior knowledge needed.
3. Get your website listed in Google results. You can submit your website directly to Google using its 'Add your URL to Google' tool. This tells Google about your website so you can start ranking in different search terms.
4. Use search engine optimization to get your website moving up the rankings in Google results. Improve your rankings by getting other websites to link to you, creating meta tags and having a well-written title.
Add Revenue Generators
5. Sign up for Google Adsense and implement their ad serving code into your website. Once their code is in place, it will scan the content of your site and decide what type of ads to show. Each time a visitor clicks one of these ads, you get money. The price of the click is determined by how much the advertiser is willing to pay. Some clicks will pay as little as one penny, while other clicks might pay $10 or more.
6. Sign up for an affiliate account and add their code to your website. Some larger websites have their own in-house affiliate programs, but most subscribe to a larger network to be found more easily by publishers. By signing up for a network, you get access to all affiliates it carries. Some advertisers must first approve your website before you can start selling their products. Affiliates will typically pay you a percentage of a sale or a flat fee for each person signing up for their service or buying something from their website.
7. Add a shopping cart to sell your own merchandise. You can choose from different shopping cart software available and implement it into your website. You can choose what type of payment you will accept, from credit cards to PayPal. This is the most difficult type of revenue to set up, but it has the potential to bring in the most income because you've essentially cut out the middle man.
