How to Make Money With Your Own Live Chat Website

1. Determine the type of website you want to start for live chatting. Live chat websites can range from adult-themed to expertise sites such as law or legal advice. Decide which type of live chat site makes sense for you based on your expertise and what you have to offer.
2. Secure a website. Purchase a website through a reputable domain name service. Make sure that the domain registry service participates in the registration of International Domain Names, or IDNs. This is a network which makes sure no one else 'owns' the domain name. Secure a website whose name correlates to the type of live chat you will be performing.

3. Build your live chat website. You can pay to have your website professionally built, or use a 'build it yourself' subscription service. The key things for the live chat website will be building areas where you can chat in groups or in private. Include pages with biographic information, pictures and other information that correlate with your type of live chat site. Also be sure to embed a payment method for your website.
4. Add Google Adsense to your website. Google Adsense is a program which allows advertisers to place advertisements on your website. When an ad gets clicked by a user, the user is then transported to another website. As the host of that ad, you get paid by the advertiser for each click. The amounts vary based on the type of advertisement. See Resources for more information.
5. Advertise your website. To make money, you want to keep your costs low so that you can keep more of the business income. Forgo some of the traditional banner advertising. Those ads will be bought and paid for by corporations. For your website, advertise on community boards and places that share a common theme with your website. As you invite people for live chat, more customers will start to follow.
6. Get customers to commit to paying you. This can be the tricky part. You want to offer enough incentive that when they visit your website, they begin to engage with you and then reach for their wallets. At some point in the conversation, you will have to ask them to 'go private' or pay for a service (such as reviewing a legal document). If they do not, you will eventually have to stop communicating with that person. After all, there is only one of you to make money
