Microsoft Word 2003
1. Click 'View' at the top of your Microsoft Word toolbar. Select 'Header and Footer' from the View options.
2. Click 'Show Previous' or 'Show Next' to change the size and spacing of your header.
3. Adjust your header size until you're happy with the look of your thesis. If that doesn't make your header small enough, or the problem isn't your header but rather the text not being high enough, skip to Step 4.
4. Click 'File' then 'Page Setup.' Click the 'Margins' tab from Page Setup.
5. Decrease your top margin to '0.5' or smaller based on how you'd like your paper to look. Click 'Multiple Pages' from the Margins tab, then click 'Mirror Margins' to ensure all the pages of your thesis look the same.
