1. Create valuable content for the website in the form of both text and multimedia. Ensure the content is original and informative. Add and update content several times a week.
2. Register with an ad network such as Google AdSense, Microsoft Ads or AdBrite. Once the account is approved and activated, generate HTML ad-codes for several ad sizes. Determine areas for advertising within the website prior to generating ad codes.
3. Edit the Web pages and place the ad codes at predetermined places, generally above the 'fold,' the top half of the website. Do not to display more than two to three ad units at once, because heavy ad placement distracts viewers.
4. Join with an affiliate network such as ClickBank, e-Junkie or LinkShare and log in to the admin panel. Search for digital products defined by the niche of your website within such networks. Generate affiliate links for suitable products.
5. Place affiliate links as text links or image links in the website. Quality affiliate products usually accompany affiliate resources. Browse vendor's website to find banners, images and other resources to use for links.
6. Register with a text-link ad provider such as Infolinks, Kontera and TextLinkAds. Place their ad codes within the site as required.
7. Build an email list from your visitors using services such as MailChimp, AWeber or iContact. Create an account and set up an auto-responder campaign. Give away some valuable downloads as bait for sign-up.
8. Include affiliate links and other promotional material in email campaigns. Concentrate on giving value to the subscriber, if you don't, the rate at which subscribers unsubscribe skyrockets.
9. Split test every monetizing method used. Change ad placements to improve click-through-rate. Test different email formats, content and length for email campaigns.
