How to Add Adsense to a WP Theme

1. Complete an AdSense application for your blog on the AdSense website. Wait for Google to email you back with approval.
2. Log in to AdSense with your Google account and click 'Get Ads.' Choose 'AdSense for Content' and work your way through the wizard, choosing a size and color scheme that fits your blog.

3. Copy the block of code that AdSense presents you with at the end of the process. You will need to add this code to your site for the ads to appear.
4. Log in to your Wordpress blog's dashboard, click the down-arrow next to 'Appearance' in the sidebar and select 'Editor' to edit the theme. Choose 'Sidebar (sidebar.php)' from the list on the right.
5. Paste the AdSense code into the sidebar. The location where you paste the code will determine the position of the ads on the blog. Try it in different places, saving and testing repeatedly, until it looks the way you prefer.
