How to Insert a Short Code Into a WordPress Page

1. Navigate to 'Settings,' and locate the link under 'Settings' that matches the name of the plug-in you want to look up. Look for the plug-in that added the functionality for the short code you want to use. Browse the settings page for that plug-in to find information on how to use its short codes. You need to know the name of the short code and its properties, if it has any. Short codes look like this:[name property='setting']If using a theme that came with built-in short codes, read its documentation to find the names of its short codes.
2. Navigate to 'Pages' in the WordPress dashboard. Click on the title of a page you want to edit, or click the 'New Page' button to create a new page. Click the 'Visual' tab above the editor box to make sure you are editing in 'Visual' mode.

3. Type out your short code in the editor box wherever you want to place it on the page. Sometimes you will only need a blank page containing the short code. Use any available properties you found listed on the plug-in's settings page if you need them. For example, a map short code might look like this:[mapplugin address='1234 Main St Pleasant Town NY']Click the blue 'Update' or 'Publish' button to update or create the page.
