How to Build an e

Become an Affiliate
1. Become an affiliate. Most websites now use Google's AdSense and Amazon to make money. Sign up with Amazon's affiliate program, as well as Google's AdSense.
2. Select the type of Amazon products that you wish to sell on your website. If you have a site specializing in selling books, then it is best to not use banner ads advertising DVDs---unless they are DVDs of a TV series or movie, which was originally famous as a book.

3. Add AdSense ads to your website. AdSense ads are a bit more difficult to control the content of than Amazon banner ads. You can, however, use the 'Competitive Ad Filter' to stop any company which is on a lot of your pages advertising irrelevant content. Google's 'AdSense Preview Tool' will also let you see what ads are coming up on a particular page, even if they are not showing when you view that page. You can then, using this tool, copy the url of a company you don't want advertising on your website, and paste it into the 'Competitive Ad Filter' box and remove their ads that way.
Sell Your Own Items
4. Use the numerous free e-commerce programs to create a store selling your own products. Also use PayPal buttons on your site. You can really just have a store made up of PayPal buttons, but you should test them all to see if they are working properly.
5. Test out just a few of your items to begin with, and see what proves to be popular. If you spend too much time putting items up on your store, then you may lose valuable marketing time, which is very important in the early stages of your venture. You may also end up disillusioned pretty quickly if you don't get very good results after a lot of hard work. Take things slowly, and tweak things wherever necessary.
6. Advertise your products and website on social networking sites for free. Advertising can be very expensive for a small business, so social networking sites are a great, and free, alternative to traditional advertising.

How to Add PPC Ads to a Website

How to Add PPC Ads to Your Website
1. First you need to locate a company that provides this service. Google is the biggest and probably the best, but there may be others that suit your needs just as readily. To sign up for Google's PPC service (called Adsense) simply browse to the
Google homepage
and click the 'Advertising Programs' link under the search bar on the main page. (NOTE: This ink appears after you click 'More' in the top navigation bar when you are using a Mozilla browser. You can sign up for any PPC service you want. Yahoo, MSN and a host of other, smaller companies offer them, too.
2. Sign up for the PPC add program. You will be asked to provide your name, address, payment information and website URL. Each service is different, and they feature differing ways to sign up for the PPC ad programs.

3. Each PPC company has a different platform and program. With Google, you simply cut and paste a piece of code into the HTML of your website page, and the ads appear on your site. This code is very simple: It pulls the ads from Google's servers and displays them on your site.
4. Paste the code into every page on which you want these ads to appear. You will need to understand a bit of HTML, so you can paste the code for the PPC ads in the right spot. Many people paste the code for the ads right into the middle of the page, so that they appear where visitors can easily see them and click on them.
5. Keep track of your PPC ad hits. Each time someone clicks on a PPC ad, you will be paid a price that is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for that click. This is like an auction, so certain keywords will work better. That is why it helps to have some understanding of SEO.

How to Find a High

1. **Understand How to Monetize With Online Ads**If you have a website or blog, you can earn money from your site with online ads ('Monetize it', as the web gurus put it. It's an ugly word, but I've grudgingly come to accept it.), You place advertisements on your web or blog pages, and get paid every time someone clicks on an ad (some ads also payout according to the number of views, but pay-per-click ads are much more common). Some ads are text, others are static images, and some are annoying little dancing people that move and have sound. You can see ads almost anywhere you look on the internet, including right here at eHow. The most well-known provider of ads is the Google Adsense program. But there are other providers as well.
2.

**Check Out Adbrite**Adbrite is one of the better known alternatives to Adsense, and is considered to be a high-paying option, offering as much as 75% of the ad revenue generated (in other words, you keep 75% of the ad income, Adbrite gets the other 25%). They offer a wide variety of formats in both text and image ads.Adbrite also offers what are known as 'inline' ads, an option not available through Adsense. These are the double-underline words in your page text. Mousing over the words causes a related ad to open up.

3.

**Look Into Bidvertiser**Bidvertiser is another option for placing ads on your website or blog. They have a reputation for unusually versatile tools to help users design the best format ads for their sites, and to incorporate ads in a way to maximize advertising earnings. I haven't used the Bidvertiser tools myself, but I hear they're pretty nifty.
4.

**Explore Clicksor**I hear lots of good reports from more and more of my colleagues regarding Clicksor. Apparently, the bidding is high (that is, the ads have a large payout), Clicksor pays a generous percentage to publishers (that would be you!), and there is a lot of versatility in how and where ads can be displayed. Clicksor also has a good reputation as far as doing an excellent job in placing context-relevant ads on your site.

1. Login to your Google Adsense account and go to the 'My Account' tab. Click 'edit' under the 'Payee Information' section. Enter the P.O. Box and sign up to get payments with Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or Western Union.

How to Make a Living With Google Adsense

Using Adsense
1. Use Google's huge database of advertisers in choosing appropriate content for your website. You do not have to find advertisers to run their copy on your website. Rather, Google selects advertisers based on the content of your website. The more advertisers you have, the more money you can make.
2. Exercise control over the advertising you display on your website. For example, you can eliminate advertising from companies that compete with one another. But you do not want to be so selective that you make less money than you should. Optimizing the productivity of your website will always be a work in progress.

3. Continue improving the relevance and quality of your website. People will visit your website if it has content that they are looking for and it is well laid out and easy to read. The more people that visit your website and click on the advertising it contains, the more money you will make.
4. Write content for on-line forums that relate to the subject matter contained on your website. Start out by joining two or three of them and post relevant information as an expert in that field. Post an abbreviated version of your article and encourage forum members to go to your website for a more complete version of it. In addition, those forum members will undoubtedly ask questions that you should answer on the forum, but refer them to relevant articles in your website. The more visitors your website has, the more money you will make when they click on your advertising.

How to Set Up a Banner Ad for a Google Content Network

1. Design your banner. Do this by using graphics software such as Photoshop or with banner-creator software like Banner Maker Pro. Alternatively, hire a web graphic designer to supply you with professionally made banners for your ad campaigns. Create or order your banners in gif, jpg, png or swf format only.
2. Log in to your Adwords account. Locate the 'New campaign' button beneath the graph showing current campaign statistics. Click this button to load a page, allowing you to select the settings for your banner ad campaign.

3. Click on the 'Campaign Type' drop-down menu. Select 'Display Network only (Display ad builder).' The Display network ad builder will subsequently load in the same page.
4. Name your campaign in the 'General settings' field. Enter the geographical locations where you want your ads to appear, and the language your customers speak.
5. Select devices. This determines on which kinds of computers or handheld devices your ad will show. You may select 'All available devices' or opt for 'Desktop and laptop computers,' which will prevent your ad form being displayed on iPhones or other mobile devices.
6. Enter your bidding and budget. The bidding amount or Cost Per Click is the price you are willing to pay for one click on your ad. Your budget is the maximum amount you want to spend on the campaign per day.
7. Set Ad extensions. Ad extensions are optional and allow you to append a phone number, product details, site links or a phone number to your ads.
8. Enter advanced settings. Set your ad schedule dates, ad rotation preferences and demographic bidding. The ad schedule determines the date your ads start and end. Ad rotation allows you to rotate different ad designs as a way of testing conversions. Ad demographics allows you to target specific ages or set gender preferences.
9. Save and continue. A page will load asking you to create an ad group. Name the group and select 'Image ad.'
10. Chose keywords. Enter around 10 to 20 keywords related to your product or service. Add or delete keywords at any time. Save the ad group. A window will open asking you to upload your image.
11. Upload your banner. Using the provided 'Browse button' locate the banner you created on you hard drive. Give the image a title, type the URL you would like to display, and the URL where you want your visitor to land. Click 'Save ad.' Once a member of Google's staff has approved your ad, it's status will change to 'Active.'
